China's MIIT Releases February 2019 Telecom Statistics; 4G Penetration Hits 75%

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released its February 2019 national telecom industry statistics.

As of the end of February 2019, China's total number of 4G mobile service subscribers reached almost 1.189 bln, comprising 75.07% of the country's total mobile service subscribers, while the total 3G subscriber base fell to just above 136 mln, or 8.60% of the total mobile subscriber base.
In calculating the fixed-line telephone and mobile subscriber penetration rates in the table above, the MIIT used China's 2018 year-end population size.
