Chi Mei, TPV and Proview to Form LCD JV

LCD television panel manufacturer Chi Mei Optoelectronics has joined forces with TPV Technology (0903.HK) and Proview International Holdings (0334.HK) to establish two factories to produce LCD modules and television sets in Wuhan and Chengdu respectively. The companies have already reached a preliminary agreement over the terms of their joint investment.

The resulting joint-venture will focus on being an OEM supplier for foreign and even domestic brand televisions. It will not produce more than 100,000 units of Chi Mei branded products on the mainland.
