Baidu Launches Music Streaming Channel

Chinese search firm Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) introduced a new channel yesterday, titled "New Song Debut" as part of its continued search for cooperation models with record companies. Baidu is working with the Emperor Entertainment Group, Music Nation, Rock Records & Tapes, Ocean Butterflies International, Huayi Brothers, B in Music, and EMI to release 9 albums from 9 artists including JJ Lin and Xu Wei. The new channel offers only streaming functionality rather than downloading.
