Chinese LCD Glass Substrate Factory Begins Production

China's first LCD glass substrate production line, built by color picture tube (CPT) manufacturer Irico Group Electronics (0438.HK), has produced its first 5G LCD-glass substrate.
Construction on the LCD glass substrate project falls into two halves: the first half, with an initial investment of RMB 800 mln, built the first 5G LCD glass substrate production line with a planned annual production capacity of 750,000 sq. m. When the first phase goes into operation, the Irico Group will begin the second phase of the plan, which will build three more 5G and higher production lines for LCD glass substrates, for a total production capacity of 2.25 mln sq. m. per year.
