Hunan TV & Broadcasting Intermediary Stops Restructuring

Yesterday, the Hunan TV & Broadcast Intermediary (000917.SZ) stopped its major asset restructuring. The company claims it applied to cease the reorganization because of the complexity of the reform efforts. It also pledged it would not plan further asset restructuring for at least another three months.

It has been suggested that Hunan Satellite TV may be planning to divert its program production and advertising resources into the publicly listed Broadcast Intermediary. These include the non-satellite television assets held by Hunan TV as well as its Happigo shopping channel, its China ETV entertainment channel, its Aniworld cartoon channel, and its EE-Media subsidiary.
