Government Procurement to Favor Domestic Software

The Beijing News, 12/01/08

A spokesperson for the Zhongguancun Science Park in Beijing has stated that government departments are currently researching software purchasing policies, with priority to be given to domestic companies that possess intellectual property rights to their own self-developed software. Related governmental departments began selections in June for eligible suppliers, and 35 companies have now passed third-party verification and been added to a government procurement suppliers list.
