China Mobile Releases DSN Whitepaper

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has released a technical white paper on distributed service networks (DSN) and invited related government departments and industry experts to begin discussions concerning feasible P2P business models.

DSN is a new generation of operational and manageable distributed core network systems and functional frameworks put forward by China Mobile, and is an important aspect of 4G network construction. The systems are directed at mobile Internet and telecom services.

Dai Xiaohui, deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT)'s Science and Technology Department, explained that this technology has been identified by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as one of the main research directions for Next Generation Internet (NGI) technology.
