Easou Powers Sohu for Mobile Search

Chinese mobile search service provider Easou recently reached a partnership with Chinese internet company Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU), and the two companies have announced the official launch of joint WAP search service. The cooperation between Easou and Sohu spans partnership on both technology and content. Sohu's Sogou mobile search offers users the choice to find either "computer sites" or "mobile phone sites." The former uses Easou's transcoder technology to convert ordinary webpages to a WAP format more suitable for mobile displays. The "mobile phone site" search option displays results from Easou's WAP search index, with all search results provided directly by Easou. The foot of the search results page displays an Easou logo and the text "Powered by Easou."

Editor's Note: In a recent interview with Marbridge, Easou said that it began the above cooperation with Sohu in mid-2009.
