Ganji Predicts RMB 50-100 Mln in 2010 Revenue

Netease Tech, 4/09/10

Chinese online classifieds site Ganji and local listings search engine Ding Ding Map have formed a strategic partnership that will see Ding Ding Map embed links to Ganji.

Ganji founder and CEO Mark Yang said that in 2010, Ganji is focused on expanding its demographic coverage and influence, and is not as concerned with profitability.

Ganji's main revenue stream is from premium ranking fees to customers such as recruiting firms. According to Ganji, each listing is read by between several dozens to hundreds of people.

Yang estimates that Ganji's 2010 revenue will be between RMB 50 mln and RMB 100 mln. In order to expand, however, Ganji will reinvest all of its profits in marketing and advertising. Ganji is also in discussions with various investors to raise a new round of funding while carrying out its national expansion.

Ding Ding Map is a Shanghai local listings service that utilizes location and search technology to recommend nearby food, entertainment and shopping locations to its users.

In addition to the Ding Ding Map partnership, Ganji has formed local online partnerships with Tianjin-based Enorth.com.cn, Guangdong-based Southcn.com, Shanghai-based Eastday.com, Southern China-based Dayoo.com, Shenzhen-based Sznews.com, Chongqing-based CQNews.net and Sichuan-based Scrxw.com.
