Tudou Announces Self-Produced Drama Plan

Chinese video site Tudou has launched its "Orange Box" plan for independent drama production, as well as its "Warehouse #6" talent pool plan. According to one industry insider, a combined drama production and broadcasting model will help Tudou to avoid copyright licensing costs and infringement disputes. Tudou will spend over RMB 500,000 on production of each episode under its "Orange Box" plan.
Tudou CEO Gary Wang declined to respond to rumors that Tudou had received USD 30 mln in funding.
