Shanghai Local Search Site Wins USD 9 Mln Led by HTC

Xu Longjiang, CEO of Ding Ding Map, (www.ddmap.com) has revealed that the Chinese local listings search engine has received USD 9 mln in a latest round of funding led by smartphone manufacturer HTC. Ding Ding Map has 7,000 partner merchants in Shanghai at present, and has nearly 8 mln users nationwide.

Xu said that priority use for the funds will be on expansion in cities outside of Shanghai, technical innovation, and expansion into mobile internet services with the help of HTC. Location-based applications integrating mobile terminals, positioning technology, and local search will provide a new operations model for Ding Ding Map, Xu said.
