NEC to Unify China Operations

Netease Tech, 7/01/10

NEC China president Masaki Kidowaki announced in Beijing today that the company will unify operations of roughly 20 of its group companies in China under NEC Solutions (China) Co., Ltd.

At present, NEC has 58 companies under its umbrella in the Greater China region, with 42 in the Mainland. Masaki said that the unified operations would be mainly targeted at approximately 20 companies in sales, marketing, technology development, and human resources, and that following integration, these companies would be merged as one.

Masaki said that the goal of unified operations is to establish a planned system for the company's sustainable development, with hopes of becoming one of the top 5 systems integration service providers in the Greater China region by 2012.

NEC began developing business in China in 1972, and turned its sights on the solutions business in 2004. The company's major businesses at present include IT solutions, network systems, IT and network platforms, software sales, and software development.
