Foxconn Confirms Move North

Caixin.com, 7/01/10

Spokesperson Vincent Tong of Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn (2038.HK; 2354.TW) has said that the company will move its key production lines from Shenzhen to Langfang, Hebei Province, by the end of the year, while a portion of Foxconn's production capacity will remain in Shenzhen.

In a separate report, the Guangzhou Daily wrote that many of Foxconn's facilities in Shenzhen are already vacant, where machinery has been packaged and shipped to Langfang. A portion of Foxconn's employees have already relocated to Langfang; those unwilling to relocate have either been transferred to other divisions or quit.
