Siano Responds to Innofidei Patent Lawsuit

Siano PR, 7/05/10

Israeli-based mobile DTV chipmaker Siano Mobile Silicon has responded to reports that it has been sued for patent violation by Beijing-based competitor Innofidei, stating that Siano's lawyers have received no notification of a lawsuit, and that Innofidei is using anti-competitive tactics through false accusations.

In a press statement, Siano VP of Marketing Ronen Jaschek and VP of Asia Business Development Wei Wang said that several of Siano's customers received letters from Innofidei alleging that Siano's chips infringed upon several Innofidei patents. Siano maintains that the technology in question was developed prior to the founding of Innofidei, and believes that Innofidei's actions are due to frustration at Siano's success in the CMMB mobile TV market.
