Rumor: Kingsoft to Acquire Image Software Company

Beijing Kingsoft Security Software, a subsidiary of Chinese software firm Kingsoft (3888.HK), has reportedly acquired Beijing-based image editing software maker Conew, according to an industry insider. This would be the first major strategic decision made by former Kingsoft president and CEO Lei Jun since his rumored return to the company. Fu Sheng, head of Conew, will become CEO of Kingsoft Security while current CEO Wang Xin may become COO. None of the parties involved answered calls from TechWeb.
