Far EasTone Acquires Beijing WVAS Firm

Taiwanese telecom operator Far EasTone plans to invest USD 7 mln in Yuan Dong Technology (BVI), indirectly acquiring a 55% stake in Beijing-based WVAS firm FarEastern New Century Information Technology, making Far EasTone the largest shareholder. Far EasTone spokeswoman Alison Kao said the deal marks Far EasTone's first acquisition in mainland China, connecting the two ICT industries on either side of the Taiwan Strait.
