Rumor: Vodafone Avoids Huawei, ZTE in India

Global telecom operator Vodafone's India subsidiary, Vodafone Essar, reportedly plans not to contract any Chinese telecom equipment manufacturers, such as Huawei or ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ), for 3G equipment and services. According to Indian IT portal OneIndia, Vodafone may award tenders to the vendors it contracted for 2G deployment, namely Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) and Ericsson.
