Rumor: Apple Awards iPad China Distribution Rights to 3 Firms

Industry sources report that China distribution rights for the Apple iPad have been awarded to three companies: ECS Technology, Changhong IT Information Products, and Hanlinhui. Digital China (0861.HK) acknowledged that its bid to distribute the product had failed.
A spokesperson for Changhong IT confirmed that the company had indeed received distribution rights, and indicated that iPads were already being brought to market via its distribution channels.
