Rumor: China Unicom to Launch Nokia C7

Netease Tech, 11/10/10

An industry source revealed today that China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) will soon launch a custom version of Nokia's flagship 3G C7 handset, to be sold through Unicom handset sales subsidiary Unicom Huasheng. The subsidy plans for the C7 will be "second only to the iPhone plan contracts," the source said, but no specific prices are yet available.

The Nokia C7 runs the handset maker's Symbian 3 operating system. It has been chosen as one of Unicom's "strategic handsets," and will be a focus of 3G handset promotional efforts later this year and all next year.
