NetDragon Q3 2010 Profit Down 85% YoY

Fuzhou-based online game developer and operator NetDragon Websoft (0777.HK) has announced its unaudited financial results for the three months ended September 30, 2010. Revenue was approximately RMB 128.2 mln, an increase of 6.7% over the second quarter in 2010 and a decrease of 15.0% over the third quarter of 2009.

Profit attributable to owners of the company was RMB 2.89 mln, down 85% YoY from RMB 19.29 mln in Q3 2009.

Average Concurrent Users ("ACU") for online games was 226,000, an increase of 4.1% QoQ and a decrease of 17.2% YoY. Peak Concurrent Users ("PCU") for online games was 589,000, an increase of 31.2% QoQ and an increase of 13.5% YoY

In Q3 2010, NetDragon released an expansion pack in English for overseas players of its self-developed MMORPG Conquer Online called "Legends Return Season II." NetDragon also released a Chinese-language expansion pack for Conquer Online called "The Returning Light," which introduced an improved "Steed System" and added a new class named "Monk." The Portuguese version is expected to enter open beta testing in Brazil at the end of November, 2010. Later, the English EP "Legends Return Season III: The Returning Light" is expected in December

NetDragon released a Malaysian version of the expansion pack "The Divine Path" for its self-developed 3D MMORPG Eudemons Online, and a traditional Chinese version of the Eudemons expansion pack "Demon Rising" will be released in Hong Kong in November.

NetDragon released the Vietnamese version of the "Galactic Armada" expansion pack for its self-developed science fiction-based 2.5D MMORPG Zero Online in October and the corresponding traditional Chinese version is expected in Q4 2010.

NetDragon plans to soon release version 3.0 of its mobile organizer PC client software 91 Assistant ("91 PC Suite"). NetDragon's stock trading simulation game Stock Tycoon ("Gushi Daheng"), co-developed with Sina's (Nasdaq: SINA) finance channel, is in the internal testing phase currently and is expected to enter open beta testing in Q1 2011. 3D MMORPG Dungeon Keeper Online, co-developed with Electronic Arts, is currently in the second round of internal testing and is expected to enter open beta testing in 2011. NetDragon will also soon release a new expansion pack for its Q-style MMORPG Way of the Five. In addition to the above, other games under development include "Doomsday," "Legend of the Dark," "Cross Gate," and a new version of "Ultima Online."
