Rumor: Lianbao Recruits Senior Staff from US Companies

According to a knowledgeable source, Lianbao, the JV all-in-one desktop computer manufacturer between Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Lenovo (0992.HK) and Tawainese consumer electronics manufacturer Compal, has begun poaching senior employees from a number of US-based consumer electronics manufacturers such as Dell and HP.

Lianbao was established in Taiwan in 2011 by Lenovo (51%) and Compal (49%) and has already partnered with a number of computer suppliers. According to the source, the company has primarily received assistance from Compal in its early development. Lianbao currently has between 300 to 400 employees, all based in Taiwan.
