Rumor: China Mobile Selects TD-LTE Terminals for Commercial Trials

According to a knowledgeable source, China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has decided on the first batch of mobile terminals to be released as a part of the company's upcoming TD-LTE commercial trials, covering customer-premises equipment (CPE), MiFi terminals, data cards, and mobile handsets.
MiFi equipment to be used in the commercial trials include Huawei's E5375, ZTE's (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) MF91S+, and China Mobile's self-branded CM510 and CM512. Mobile handsets to be used in the trials include Huawei's Ascend D2-TL, ZTE's U9810, and Samsung's I9308D and GT-19308C. Data cards to be used in the trials include ZTE's MF820T.
The above-mentioned terminals all support TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, and GSM networks, as well 10 ten different LTE spectrum bands.
China Mobile Chairman Xi Guohua earlier announced at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona in late February that China Mobile's TD-LTE network coverage would reach 100 cities and 500 mln people in 2013. China Mobile will procure over 1 mln TD-LTE terminals during the year.
