CYIT Communication Wins Third-Round Funding

Chongqing-based TD-SCDMA handset baseband chip and terminal solution provider CYIT Communication Technologies recently received an unknown sum in third-round strategic investment from Chongqing ChinaRun Capital Partners and Taiwanese multimedia IC solution provider Sunplus Technology.

CYIT Communication Technologies recently announced a solution for quad-core TD-SCDMA smartphones combining the company's own C6310 TD-SCDMA/GSM modem with Samsung's Exynos 4412 processor. The single-chip quad-core TD-SCDMA smartphone platform and multi-mode LTE terminal platform solutions will be released in Q3 2013.

In December 2012, CYIT Communication Technology received roughly USD 10 mln from Samsung in second-round funding, and established a joint venture corporation with Samsung.
