MIIT: Energy Efficient Notebooks to Receive Government Support

Sina Tech, 5/22/13

At a 2013 summit promoting low-carbon economic development in China's ICT industry held recently in Xi'an, Su Bo, deputy minister of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), stated that the government has decided to extend its support of energy-efficient products to include items such as notebook computers, copy machines, and printers.

Lu Renbo, assistant secretary general of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, stated yesterday that after government subsidies for energy-efficient household electrical appliances end in late May, the MIIT will consider continuing policies promoting energy-saving devices, but may no longer continue allocating subsidies.
