iFlytek, China Telecom Form Partnership

In a public filing today, Chinese voice recognition software firm Anhui USTC iFlytek (002230.SZ) announced that it signed a three-year strategic partnership agreement with China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) on May 24. iFlytek and China Telecom will work to promote the integration of iFlytek's intelligent speech-recognition technology into China Telecom's mobile internet products and customer services, home broadband multimedia service, I Music portal, and other products and services in order to improve user experience of the operator's mobile internet offerings.

Editor's Note: China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) became iFlytek's largest shareholder on April 23, 2013, with a 15% share of the company. iFlytek is still controlled by a group of 13 individual shareholders led by chairman of the board Liu Qingfeng.
