Beijing Telecom Kicks Off Smartphone Trade-In Program

China Telecom's (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) Beijing subsidiary has announced the launch of a trade-in promotion for old smartphones, including for the Apple iPhone 4, Samsung Galaxy S4, and the HTC One.

Throughout the duration of the promotion, customers can trade in their iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S for an iPhone 5 and receive a discount of RMB 1,200 and RMB 2,300, respectively.

Apple recently confirmed the launch of its own iPhone trade-in promotion, but has not as yet extended the promotion to the Chinese market.
