Gaopeng to Acquire Douban Online Movie Ticketing

Yesterday, Chinese group buy site Gaopeng announced that it will acquire Chinese arts and music SNS Douban's online movie ticketing business as part of Gaopeng's first steps into the mobile market, partnering with Douban on ticket release and film marketing. According to Gaopeng CEO Lin Ning, Gaopeng will partner with Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat (Weixin) mobile messaging application, QQ movie ticketing, Douban's movie review channel, and other similar services on mobile marketing and mobile movie ticketing.
