Voice Calling SNS App Wins USD 15 Mln Series A

Bilin Online, developer of mobile SNS app Bilin, has announced the receipt of USD 15 mln in first-round funding from Qiming Venture Partners and Morningside Ventures. Zero2IPO acted as an advisor for the transaction. The funding will be used principally to expand the Bilin team and increase the number of servers deployed by the company. Bilin is an anonymous phone calling app, allowing users to connect with other random app users to conduct "chat roulette-style" voice-only conversations.

Bilin was released in May 2013, with a registered use base now surpassing 20 mln. 35% of Bilin uses are female, while 75% are below the age of 24. Combined average daily talk time via the Bilin app is around 10 mln minutes.
