Rumor: Ourpalm to Acquire Game Developer MA Entertainment

TechWeb, 7/14/14

Yao Wenbin, chairman of Beijing-based mobile game developer Ourpalm (300315.SZ), has announced that the company halted trading of its shares on July 14 in preparation for the acquisition of an unnamed mobile gaming company. According to an industry insider, the acquisition target is Beijing-based mobile game developer MA Entertainment, developer of popular mobile game Quanmin Yingxiong.

MA Entertainment was established in December 2010, and received USD 7-digit first-round funding in January 2012 from Northern Light Venture Capital (NLVC). In late 2013, the company's mobile real-time strategy card game Quanmin Yingxiong was added to the game center of Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat mobile messaging app. The game achieved revenues of approximately RMB 100 mln in the first month after joining the platform.
