Fresh Food Delivery Site Dmall Secures USD 100 Mln Angel Funding

Beijing Business Today, 4/30/15

Shenzhen-based fresh food delivery site Dmall, which was founded by the former chairman of Chinese telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer Huawei Technologies' Honor smartphone brand Jeff Liu, has won USD 100 mln angel funding from IDG Capital.

After users place an order with Dmall, the platform's delivery personnel stationed in supermarkets will pick up the order and deliver the items to the user within an hour.

At present, Dmall offers a discount of 5%, and free delivery of orders of RMB 59 or over.

Liu said that as Dmall has positioned itself in the "last kilometer" of the supply and delivery chain, and is not involved in the cold storage, delivery or warehouse segments, the company faces almost zero risk in terms of damage to goods.
