Installment Plan E-tailer Qufenqi Wins USD 9-digit Series E Funding

Beijing-based Kuaile Shidai, operator of layaway payment plan-focused online shopping site Qufenqi.com, recently completed USD 9-digit Series E funding and will soon announce investors and specific funding amounts, according to an internal email sent by company founder and CEO Luo Min. Luo also stated that in July the company rolled out a new product, "Quzu," which allows users to pay their apartment rent in installments. In April of this year, Qufenqi announced that it had completed Series D funding of nearly USD 100 mln.
Qufenqi has neither confirmed nor commented on rumors prior to the funding announcement that it has been experiencing a wave of employee departures in its provincial capital sales centers, including the departure of senior managers including vice presidents. Qufenqi currently has more than 2,000 employees throughout China, with business covering more than 99% of university students in the country.
