JD Finance to Integrate Consumer Loan Services with Third-party Platforms

Hexun.com, 3/28/16

JD Finance, the online financing and retail investment platform operated by Chinese B2C e-commerce platform JD.com (Nasdaq: JD), recently announced that its consumer loan services, which currently serve only shoppers on JD.com, will now be available to third parties outside of the JD.com ecosystem. Its installment payment service JD Baitiao will be offered to consumers on third-party platforms such as travel and real estate rental platforms, and will also begin operating as an independent brand "Baitiao." Finally, JD Finance will open up its self-developed infrastructure, such as risk-assessment systems, to third parties.

JD Finance said recently that Baitiao will begin using the domain name baitiao.com. The JD Baitiao service has so far catered mainly to young consumers.
