Online Family Travel Platform 'Tongyou' Completes RMB 8-digits Pre-A

Guangzhong-based Tongyou Information Technology, operator of online and mobile family travel platform Tongyou, recently announced completion of RMB 8-digit pre-Series A funding led by Suntour Capital and Cher Ami Investment Management. Following the funding round Tongyou plans to explore ways of combining travel and education by offering offline kindergarten and elementary school educational products and services. In terms of business development, Tongyou will partner with children's biscuit brand "Jiadun" ("Garden") to expand into the family consumption market. Tongyou will also invest in filming family-themed travel movies.
The Tongyou platform offers packages for parent and child travel. It currently covers several regions including Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, the Zhejiang-Jiangsu-Shanghai region, Sanya, and Yunnan province.
Editor's Note: According to information on the Tongyou website, the company currently operates through online and mobile app platforms and through a public account on Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat mobile messaging app. Users can visit the Tongyou platform to browse parent and child activities and make online reservations. Users can also request custom travel plans and services such as travel videography and interactive parent-child activities during their trip. Tongyou Information Technology was established in July 2012.
