TD-SCDMA for Olympics May Not Require 3G Licenses

Speaking at the Mobile Asia Congress in Macau, secretary-general of the TD-SDCMA Alliance Yang Hua has indicated that it will be necessary to issue 3G licenses if 3G services are to be official commercial services at the 2008 Olympics. The government has undertaken to provide 3G services, but it is unclear if these will be officially commercial services, or trials.
