NDRC to Implement Electronics Waste Regulations Before February

An official with the National Development and Reform Commission's Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Department has revealed that regulations on the recycling of electric and electronic appliances have been passed by the State Council and are due to released by Chinese New Year (February 6-12).

The Ministry of Finance will use the new regulations to collect a levy from manufacturers, which will then be used to pay for recycling. However, no payments will be required from distributors or retailers.
