Ycwb.com, 1/04/08

Guangzhou Radio and Television Network (Guangzhou Cable TV) had completed 90% of its transition to DTV in urban areas as of December 31, with 900,000 households connected. This figure is expected to reach one million by Chinese New Year (February 6-12). Preparations for HDTV and interactive TV are underway, with a possible launch by June.

Guangzhou Radio and Television Network (Guangzhou Cable TV) has recently started carrying ten new channels from the platforms of CCTV subsidiary China Digital Media (e.g. Military Affairs channel) and Top V (Dingshi Media), giving it a total of 91 channels. New high-end set-top boxes with hard drives and support for HDTV, time-shifting and interactivity are to be made available mid-year, along with the launch of interactive services.
