China Telecom to Re-Organize Marketing Department

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) is preparing to reorganize its marketing department, expanding its role and elevating its status within the company. According to an informed source, the department may be headed up by a China Telecom VP. This shake-up follows on from changes at the Internet and VAS, and Corporate Clients departments. On completion of the changes, the Corporate Clients Department will manage general information services, the Internet and VAS department Internet and VAS, while the marketing department will handle public services and coordination between the different departments.
The moves are expected to take place after Chinese New Year (February 6-12)..
