Lenovo Q3 Profits Up 198%

Lenovo Group (0992.HK) has announced financial results for its third fiscal quarter of 2007/08, which ended December 31, 2007. Results were as follows:
- Quarterly sales up 15% to USD 4.6 bln
- Quarterly EBITDA (excluding restructuring) up 91% to USD 244 mln
- Quarterly pre-tax income (excluding restructuring) up 190% to USD 192 mln
- Quarterly profit attributable to shareholders (including restructuring) up 198% to USD 172 mln
- Quarterly basic EPS (including restructuring) up 188% to 1.93 US cents, or 15.01 HK cents
Strong growth in global PC shipments - 22% YoY, compared to the industry average of 16% - drove sales
