MII, NDRC Publish Mobile Roaming Fee Plan

Sina Tech, 2/05/08

The Ministry of Information Industry (MII) and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) have published their plan for changes to mobile roaming fee limits - an adjusted version of the second proposal under consideration. The plan does not distinguish between pre-pay and post-pay subscribers, or use of long-distance circuits, and sets a ceiling of RMB 0.60 per minute for calls made while roaming, and RMB 0.40 per minute for those received.

Opinions will now be solicited from consumer groups, with a final decision to follow shortly.
