The Motion Picture Association (MPA) has announced that six member studios are suing China's P2P download service provider Xunlei in Shanghai. The studios are demanding RMB 7 mln in compensation, plus a public admission of copyright infringement.
The six plaintiffs, 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Warner Brothers, and Buena Vista International have listed 32 movies reportedly pirated, including "Batman 3", "War of the Worlds", and "Miami Vice". The MPA stated that prior to the lawsuit MPA lawyers had issued 78 legal letters to Xunlei on this matter.
