Guangdong Mobile Lowers Tariffs

The latest M-Zone tariffs offered by China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) Guangdong branch extend one-way charging beyond just calls received in-city to include those received in-province as well. Domestic roaming calls to any number will cost RMB 0.39 per minute, while charges for calls received while roaming will be halved from RMB 0.59 per minute to RMB 0.29. Non-roaming long-distance calls will drop to RMB 0.29 per minute.

A Guangdong Mobile official revealed that a new Shenzhouxing package is also in the works and to be unveiled before the end of the month. Guangdong Unicom is also working on new tariffs, which are expected to be made public within days.
