Growth Slows in Handset Manufacturing Sector

New 2007 figures from the MII show a 14% rate of growth in handset manufacturing over 2006, representing a 44% drop in growth. Mobile handset production in China had grown at a rate of 25% or more per year since 2002.
The MII predicts that in the future, the fastest-growing area in mobile handset manufacturing will be in the smartphone sector.
