MetaSwarm, InfoSure Sign CRBT Licensing Deal

MetaSwarm has announced that it has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Beijing Infosure to provide the latter with licensed songs for color ringback tones (CRBT) for the Chinese market. The agreement grants Infosure the right to distribute MetaSwarm's ringtones and CRBTs on mobile phones, telecommunication value-added services and mobile Internet devices. Under the terms of the agreement, MetaSwarm will be responsible for licensing content from content providers and creators from the US and around the world, and Infosure will be responsible for promotion, distribution network construction and sales. The agreement will initially focus on Chinese music, but over the next 2 years will grow to include foreign music as MetaSwarm makes agreements with foreign content providers and creators.

China Mobile predicts that by 2010 the number of CRBT users in China will increase to 300 mln, with annual revenues expected to exceed USD 20 bln.
