Baofeng to Introduce Video Ads

On March 12, domestic media player software developer Baofeng Technology announced the latest version (3.15 Ultimate) of its Baofeng Media Player, and said that it was in talks with the three major domestic film companies on introducing video ads in May or June.

Baofeng VP Fang Wei revealed that the company was also currently in discussions with a number of venture capital companies, and planned to announce a second round of funding in August or September. More than 15 mln users make use of Baofeng every day, with nearly a million new user registrations per day. In addition to traditional promotion methods, the company also plans to promote itself in internet cafes, campuses, and other new markets, with the goal of getting 20 mln daily users by the end of the year.
