Baidu Named "Outstanding Employer"

Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) has been selected by Fortune Magazine as one of 20 "China Market - Outstanding Employers in 2007" from a total of 120 foreign and local companies. Indicators such as a company's ability to attract and retain qualified personnel and results from a staff satisfaction survey were used determine company rankings.
According to selection data, Baidu employs over 7,000 personnel and has surpassed industry averages in many areas, such as employee commitment, job satisfaction, and pay and benefits. In terms of "effectiveness of leadership and management" Baidu scored 18% higher than the Chinese market average and 6% higher than the IT industry average; and, in "staff development and training" Baidu outscored Chinese market and IT industry averages by 12% and 7%, respectively.
