ZTE Awards Comtech USD 10 mln Supply Deal

Comtech Group (Nasdaq: COGO), a provider of customized design solutions for the technology manufacturing sector in China, today announced that it has signed a USD 10 mln deal to supply telecommunications module solutions to Chinese telecommunications and network solutions provider ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ).

Under the agreement, Comtech will begin supplying ZTE with telecom solutions starting this quarter and expects to complete the order at the end of 2008. The agreement mainly covers the datacom and broadband business sectors.

Capital expenditure in China's telecom infrastructure market was USD 32 bln in 2007, with continued steady growth expected ahead. Capital expenditure on TD-SCDMA networks is expected to grow from RMB 22 bln in 2007 to RMB 47.2 bln in 2010.
