China Mobile: 4 New Requirements for Mobile Terminals

Yan Wusi, deputy general manager of Tianjin Mobile, has outlined four key types of functionality mobile Internet terminals should support. These include "connection functions (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc), general handset functionality (2D barcode, RFID, voice-recognition, etc.) design functionality (full keyboards, vivid colors, multimedia functions, etc) as well as embedded technology (positioning-services, digital rights management, instant messaging and other mobile community functions, etc.)." The current array of terminals on the Chinese market support approximately 40% of these features.
