Facebook Launches Chinese Website

Sina Tech, 6/19/08

Social networking website Facebook has recently launched a simplified Chinese version of its website, translated into Mandarin by volunteers. Starting today, users in mainland China who log in will be redirected to the simplified interface at http://zh-cn.facebook.com. A traditional character version of the site is already available for users in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Editor's Note: Marbridge's editors in mainland China visited www.facebook.com today and found that it did not jump automatically to the Chinese homepage. However, the bottom left corner of the site does feature a language selection option where both simplified and traditional Chinese pages are available.
