Microsoft China Slashes Price of Office 2007

Software giant Microsoft has announced that from July 1 the price of its Office Home and Student 2007 FPP product in China will be reduced by half, to RMB 699. Several retailers including electrical appliance retailer Suning (002024.SZ), and online B2C store Joyo-Amazon have already begun selling at the new price.
The reduced-price Office can be installed on up to 3 computers.
The latest version of Windows Vista Home Basic Edition, SP1, is also available online for only RMB 458, a substantial reduction compared to its initial price of RMB 2,000.
