3.4% of Olympics Viewers Use CMMB Devices

CTR Market Research, the market research subsidiary of CCTV, has conducted a survey of 1,500 people in 15 cities throughout China to ask about their media consumption patterns during the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games.

The survey found that the 98.1% of individuals watched or listened to the ceremony. Of these, 97.7% viewed the ceremony on television, while 13.7% viewed the ceremony online, 11.4% listened to it on the radio, and 6.4% watched on televisions in public transit systems. The report also claims 3.4% of viewers viewed the ceremony on mobile handsets, primarily using the CMMB broadcast standard.
